Service Description

WINTER Qigong Restore - Rest - Nourish Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice coordinating your breath and slow fluid movements in a calm mindful state. Learn to recognize blockages in the body to assist relaxation and release of tension and stress.  ​ Enable the meridians to open and free your body from physical and emotional bonds, creating space and emptiness allowing you to drop life's baggage and clean out useless attachments.  During Winter, all of nature is in a state of stillness and hibernation. Therefore, it's the best time of year to conserve your energy and nourish your qi. Qigong practices for winter focus on stillness and inward reflection, sleeping longer hours, taking naps, self-massage and maintaining internal warmth throughout the organs especially in the lower dantian which is your internal furnace. We eat warming foods and practice slow cooking, soups, broths, casseroles and warm drinks like tea. The organs associated with Winter, are the kidneys and bladder. During this 4 weeks course, we will focus on Kidney strengthening, letting go of fear and always working towards a harmonious state of being. Course dates: Wednesday 5th June - Wednesday 26th June, 2024 The sessions will be held each Wednesday morning at 8.00am - 9.00am at the St Andrews Anglican Church Hall on Bicentennial Drive in Sunshine Beach. This lovely, air-conditioned hall have a great energy and the space have been enjoyed by my students for the past 3 years. Participants are requested to sign up for the 4 week course as a commitment to the practice and feel the benefits. Each week you will receive a 30 minute practice video so if you miss a physical class you can still participate with the video.
