This September 10-13, take yourself out of your daily life and retreat to Amara. Nestled in its beautiful setting in the Hinterland on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Join Master Liu Deming and Michelle Greene for 3 nights immersing in Qigong, Meditation, journaling and Whole-Self nuturing. This will be an intimate, personal retreat offering only 16 residential guest places.
Waking up at Amara with the sunrise, provides each day with a glorious moment of feeling lucky to be alive. Watch the mist roll over the hills and into the valley beneath the Main Retreat House as you take the path to the, "The Heart Centre", which overlooks the expansive northerly view to the coast.
Slip into meditation and Qigong as the sun peaks over the hills and the new day begins with renewed aspirations. "There is a vibration here that resonates visibly with our guests. You can see stress and tension disappearing immediately, even as soon as you drive through the gates at Amara".
The stunning Hampton's Style Retreat House offers accomodation for 10 guests in delicious twin share rooms, fitted with the softest linen and gorgeous shared bathrooms. There are also two carefully placed, private eco cabins on the property. These self contained tiny homes sleep 2 guests together or in seperate beds. New to Amara this year are luxury bell tents fitted out beautifully with two queen size beds, another wonderful twin share option. The bell tents each have their own bathroom.
Feel the connection to nature as you walk the 45 undulating acres. Slow down your mind in the rock balancing garden, another meditative space amongst lush forests. Swim in the expansive dam or let go in the steam sauna or float in the magnesium plunge pool to wash away any residual tension. Feel inspired and playful during journaling time, allowing you to capture the true essence of your thoughts and emotions. Then, finish the day with the setting sun over the valley with a fire circle, giving you time to reflect and chat about this journey called life.

What is Qigong and why learn more?
Qigong is an ancient Chinese system of exercise and meditation that makes the mind, body and spirit tranquil, improves quality of life, and cultivates health, well-being, and longevity.
Qigong exercises help maintain health by creating a state of mental and physical calmness, which indicates that the Qi energy is balanced and harmonious. This allows the mind/body/spirit to function most efficiently, with the least amount of stress.
When you start practicing Qigong exercises, the primary goal is to concentrate on letting go, letting go, letting go. That’s because most imbalance comes from holding on to too much for too long, whether it be from trauma, stress, injury or other tension creating issues. Most of us are familiar with physical strength of muscles, and when we think about exercising, we think in terms of tensing muscles. Qi energy is different. Qi strength is revealed by a smooth, calm, concentrated effort that is free of stress and does not pit one part of the body against another.
It’s harder to remedy an illness than to prevent it, and Qigong has powerful preventive effects. However, when disharmony becomes apparent, Qigong exercises also can play a crucial role in restoring harmony.
Qigong can be practised by anyone and anywhere. During this retreat we will engage in Qigong practices morning and afternoon (approximatley 5 hours per day). Master Liu will be teaching to all levels and we welcome those new to Qigong, along with more experienced practitioners.
Michelle Greene – Pure Greene
Michelle has been practising Qigong and various forms of meditation for 16 years.
For the past 6 years Michelle has been a student of Master Liu and is a certified Master Ziran Qigong Instructor.
Michelle is currently teaching regular Qigong classes and offering private one on one, workshops and corporate, specialist & school sessions on the Sunshine Coast. Michelle also offers holistic counselling and creative arts therapy using various visual art mediums, movement and music to work with clients.
Master Liu Deming – Ziran Qigong
Master Liu has over 30 years teaching experience. He began learning Ziran Kung Fu and Qigong in his teens, has had his own school and now travels the world sharing his teachings. He believes through Ziran Qigong practice and Taoist Tranquility Meditation, you can develop inner peace and the strength to help deal with day to day stress, prevent or heal mental and physical sickness, and lead us into a greater space of consciousness and happiness. Master Liu actively caters to all levels of interest within his open and relaxed teaching style.
